Bourton Water Treatment Works, which is operated by Wessex Water, has recently undergone a full refit.

BIMTek were responsible scanning the existing site and developing a 3d model inclusive of; pipework, pumps, crane, chemical dosing points and access metalworks.

While the design was produced by a third party, BIMTek's model was used to validate the design. The model was then utilised to produce precision pipework fabrication drawings but also to ensure no conflicts between pipework, lifting framework and access metalwork.​ This process helps to minimise downtime as the validation model allows identification of potential issues that often go unnoticed when using traditional 2d design methods. This is often very valuable to customers, particularly utility companies.
